No “Wheels” Show would be complete without “goodie bags”. Pictures below are members of the WFPCR Executive Committee at President Gilbert Seibel’s garage preparing the Haggarty bags in assembly line fashion.

WFPCR’s first “Wheels” show was held at The Union Mills Homestead, Westminster, MD on September 6, 2009. Not only was the weather outstanding but the location was breathtaking.

Preparation, organization and wonderful caring individuals are needed to put on a successful “Wheels” Show. Below are some pictures of the dedicated individuals that made September 6, 2009 a memorable day for all.

Sue Butcher(L)Phyllis Gofstein(R) Jeff Brown & Carol Seibel(R) Van Seibel

Though not pictured, the following were instrumental in making the “Wheel’s” Show a huge success. Larry Butcher (1st V.P) who was in charge of parking and field lay-out. Kevin, Sean and Jeff Seibel, traffic control. William Seabolt Jr. who drove the Homestead tractor, and laid out the utility containers, and pylons. Paul and Robin Farace who stood on route 97 and flagged down cars to enter our event. Phil Shulka who has produced a video of the event. Bob Repsuer—photagrapher. Pleasant Valley Fire Company who provided a paramedic on standby.

To Kay Seibel, WFPCR's Secretary, a special thanks for her help at the registration booth, sending out thank you letters to our sponsors, for creating spread sheets related to the "Wheels Show', and for anything else I may have overlooked. The show could not have gone on without Kaye's supreme efforts!

Wheels began arriving at the Homestead around 9a.m. Each wheel that was to be part of the show was positioned in front of the Grist Mill water wheel. Pictures were taken of each entry and every entrant was to receive a WFPCR picture frame with a picture of his/her own entry.

Pictured below are Carol Seibel and Billy Seibel, wife and son of WFPCR’s 2nd Vice President William Van Seibel. Carol and Billy set the bar high, taking all the “Wheel’s” pictures, printing, putting the “Wheel’s” pictures into WFPCR,s Prostate Cancer (PC) picture frames ™, and delivering the finished frames to their rightful owners.  WFPCR’s  PC picture frames were THE big hit at the show.

Gilbert G. Seibel

President

Wheels for Prostate Cancer research Inc.

In October of 2009, Gilbert G. Seibel was nominated for a Baltimore Raven's Quaterback Award. Normally only three awards are presented by the Baltimore Ravens to nominees from 501(c)(3) organizations who excel in community service, committment to their organization, and a pillar in their community. This year, the Ravens had more nominees than ever before. Though Gilbert Seibel did not receive one of the top three awards, the Ravens awarded Gilbert G. Seibel with a $1000.00 check made payable to Wheels for Prostate Cancer Research. Below is a copy of the Raven's award letter to Gilbert Seibel with a copy of the check. Gil Seibel has designated the $1000.00 check to go to the Mayo Clinic for furthering test trials and on-going studies for MDX-010.
